About our Instructors

Claire Alexander: Claire Alexander grew up dancing at her mother’s studio in southern California. After receiving her BA in Dance from San Jose State University she began teaching and choreographing for many Bay Area studios and schools. Claire’s first time on stage with CMT was in Hairspray where she quickly fell in love with musical theater and came back for more the following season in 9 to 5. With CMT’s Rising Stars productions Claire has directed Schoolhouse Rock at CMT and choreographed for Aladdin Jr. and The Wizard of Oz. When she is not choreographing or performing she is the curator for San Jose’s Dance in Transit event. She is also an active leader in the San Jose arts community and is a graduate of the San Jose Leadership Council’s Community Leadership Program.

Tony Panighetti: Tony—or “Mr. Tony” to many CMT campers and students—is a resident artist from Starting Arts and has been a theater arts teacher and performer for a dozen years. He has performed throughout California and on the high seas through Alaska, Canada, Europe and the Bahamas. He was CMT’s director of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown in 2007.
