Kevin R. Hauge

Artistic Director

In his 18th season as artistic director at CMT, Kevin has led the nation’s leading theater company for youth in taking on increasingly challenging and professional-quality productions. His innovative approach to productions includes incorporating modern techniques and technology, all culminating in recognition of artistic excellence from the National Endowment for the Arts nine consecutive years. A recipient of the prestigious Lin Wright Special Recognition Award by the American Alliance for Theater and Education, he has been the guest speaker at the International Association of Theater Educators Conference in Washington D.C. and the Education and Technology conference in New York City.  Kevin has collaborated on productions in a variety of venues all over the world. He has staged ice shows, magic shows, musical revues, industrial shows, corporate parties, television specials and book musicals for a variety of companies, including Tropworld (Atlantic City), Harrah’s (Reno), Six Flags Parks (nationwide), and Royal Viking Cruise Lines (worldwide). Some of the unique productions Kevin has worked on include You’re In the Movies (MGM Grand) in Las Vegas, World of Wonders (Everland) in Seoul, South Korea, and a special Easter Celebration (The White House) in Washington D.C.  Kevin has appeared several times as a guest artist with the San Jose Symphony and has served on the exhibits committee at the Tech Museum of Innovation.


Michael Miller

Managing Director

Michael is thrilled and honored to be Managing Director of CMT. His career started in entertainment 25 years ago with his own company Spotlight Entertainment, producing shows for Holland America Cruise Line and corporate events locally and internationally.  After 4 seasons with AMTSJ as Production Manager in the ‘90’s Michael moved east and spent 5 seasons as Director of Production for Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ, returning to AMTSJ in 2002 as Director of Production and General Manager of Miss Saigon other favorite co-productions/tours include Dreamgirls, A Chorus Line, I’m Not Rappaport and many others. In 2004 Michael was appointed CEO & Executive Producer of AMTSJ and due to economic challenges the company closed at the end of 2008. Michael has stayed active in the community working with 1stACT Silicon Valley, Executive Director of San Jose Jazz where he is now a Board member. Michael has served as Chair of the Arts Round Table, Arts Board Chair at Team San Jose, Chair of the Theatre Preservation Board and board member of Teatro Vision, sjDANCEco, Co-Chair of the live music catalyst team, committee member with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and active participant with Team in Training. 


Lakshmi Parige

Finance Director

Lakshmi Parige has been working with CMTSJ since September, 2008. She has over ten years of experience working with non-profits.  Lakshmi, holds a Master’s degree in Commerce and has a strong background in office management.  As the Finance Director of the organization, Lakshmi is in-charge of the Finance operations and Human resources of the organization.


Shannon Self

Artistic Manager

Shannon Self a CMT alumna, is the full time Education Manager of Core Programs at CMTSJ.  In addition to directing, choreographing, teaching, and occasionally performing for CMTSJ, Shannon oversees all ten production workshops each year.  Shannon has also performed with AMTSJ, Theatrical Arts Int. in Los Angeles, and Lenape Regional Theater in Philadelphia.  Shannon has a bachelor's degree in theater and dance from Santa Clara University.


Juliana Cheney

Education Manager

Juliana came to CMT in 2007 with an eleven year background in producing, directing, stage-managing, performing, and teaching theatre to young people.  She is a dedicated supporter of youth theatre education and believes strongly in creating a space for children where they are free to fully explore and embrace the art of theatre. Juliana earned her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Drama for the Young and Children’s Literature.  She also has a Master’s degree in Arts Administration.


Jill Popolizio

Development Director

As Director of Development, Jill Popolizio provides coordination, leadership and development for CMT’s fundraising efforts. Her passion for education, youth engagement, and innovation drew her immediately to CMT’s mission and goals, where she sees countless opportunities to build partnerships and collaborative ventures.  She joined the CMT staff in April 2012, working most recently at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Jill’s community involvement includes eight years as Program Chair for a private elementary school, where she collaborated with faculty, administrators, parents, & students to identify community needs and incorporate service learning into the curriculum.  


Matt Thompson

Marketing Manager

Matt just closed out his first year at CMT. Originally from Miami, FL, where he grew up and graduated from Florida International University. Matt has spend his entire career in the non-profit world. Along with being a marketer, he is also a graphic designer, film maker, and co-founder of a small company that helps young non-profits extend their reach through content marketing and new media. Matt is also a member of the Arts Marketing Roundtable and a steering committe member of GenArts Silicon Valley. 


Clint Williams

Assistant to the Artistic Director

Clint hails from Austin, TX where he obtained his B.F.A in Theatre: Performance & Production from Texas State University.  After graduation he worked with ZACH Theatre in Austin as their Interim Production Manager.  Clint has taught in numerous summer camps, as well as founded a theatre program for the Khabele School in Austin, TX.  He has acted in numerous theatrical productions as well as film and television.


Kristen Hermosillo

Program Manager

Kristen began her journey with Children’s Musical Theater San Jose nearly six years ago. Since then she has performed in well over a dozen CMT productions and instructed in various CMT Education programs. The past two summers she has acted as the Camp Manager for CMT Summer Camp. Kristen feels so blessed to be able to work for her favorite theater company, and pair her two passions of education and theater!


Josh Rose

Production Manger

Josh Rose earned his BFA in Stage Management and Theatre Technology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.  After graduation, Josh spent four years in the Seattle area working for various companies including The Fifth Avenue Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Village Theatre, and Tacoma Actors Guild.  After moving to the Bay Area in 2005, Josh worked with TheatreWorks and San Jose Repertory Theatre before joining CMT in 2011.


Joel Heinschel

Technical Supervisor

Joel obtained a BFA from the University of Wyoming. After college he worked at TheaterWorks in Palo Alto for 5 years and then made the transition to CMT. He greatly enjoys his colleagues and his work. In his off time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.


David Powell

Shop Carpenter

David is a recent addition to the CMTSJ family.  He grew up in Raleigh, NC, graduated from UNCSA where he studied technical direction, and then moved to NYC to build sets and make movies.He is the TD/Scenic Designer for Renegade Theatre Experiment.  Shows include (NYC) "Seven Guitars," "Venus in Fur," "Forrest," "Orphans Home Cycle", "Queens Blvd," "Angels in America."(Theatreworks) "Secret Garden," "Of Mice and Men," "Upright Grand," and more. 


Patrick McKenna

Master Carpenter

Patrick came to CMT by way of TheatreWorks, a company he started working for in '76. In his 34 + years working in theater, he has been a master carpenter for the Boston Opera Company and Alaska Repertory company as well as the technical director at both TheatreWorks and Opera San Jose. Patrick has also taught technical theatre at Canada college and Foothill college. Patrick is married with one child and his wife works at Stanford university as an IT director. His daughter is a freshman at Macalester College and is a competition swimmer. Outside the theatre, Patrick is a disaster volunteer with the American Red Cross as well as an amateur radio operator and a CERT (search and rescue) out of Palo Alto.


Marti Kranak

Costume Department Supervisor - Costume Rentals

Marti first came to CMT as a parent volunteer in 1991.  Over the years Marti has served as the Costume Designer for over 50 CMT productions as well as many other Bay Area theater companies including the UCSC opera department.  She has also worked as a seamstress in the costume shops of Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera and AMTSJ.

Peter Hayes

Box Office Manager

Peter is a veteran of children’s theater productions in Santa Clara and a film studies graduate of UC Santa Cruz, and first became affiliated with the CMT box office while working at AMTSJ. Since then, he’s managed events for Broadway San Jose, SJ Civic concerts, and dozens of other cultural events in San Jose, but he still enjoys serving CMT patrons the best.
