Evita

CMT Mainstage

Show Dates: May 12 – 21, 2017

Audition registration opens February 28

CMT Mainstage takes us from rags to riches with Evita, based on the true story of political leader Eva Peron, told through a compelling score with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences. Born in poverty herself, she uses her powers of seduction and ruthless ambition to leave her past behind and become the spiritual leader of Argentina. As First Lady, she aligns herself as a hero to the poor and working class until she’s virtually worshipped – and her husband’s popularity as President is assured. Experience Evita’s epic rise and fall through the eyes of her people in this soaring musical.

Amie JanAmie Jan, Musical Director

Amie Jan graduated from Rice University with a Computer Science degree, and briefly worked as a software programmer and IT consultant before she decided that she simply needed to have more music in her life! She moved to California, and began her second undergraduate degree at San Jose State University, double majoring in Violin Performance and Music Education, subsequently earning her teaching credential in Music.
