Scholarships

CMT San Jose grants need-based scholarships to those families who are unable to afford the tuition for its programs. The intent of the Scholarship Program is to give performance opportunities to youth who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Scholarships may be limited, but CMT will award as many as it is able.

Two types of scholarships are available:

  • Work Scholarship
  • Non-Work Scholarship

If you are considering to participate in any of our upcoming productions, we strongly encourage you to complete your scholarship application in advance. If you are planning to do a work scholarship, please note that you may begin working off your hours at any time. Don’t wait - there are many areas to choose from. So apply today!

How To Apply

Complete the Scholarship Application (above) and then schedule an appointment with the Education Manager of Training and Outreach.  Appointments must be scheduled prior to 5pm on last appointment deadline for each season. Applications must be submitted in person.  Faxed applications will not be accepted.

When submitting your application for the first time, plan at least 45 minutes to 1 hour for your appointment time.  If you are renewing your scholarship from a previous season, plan at least 10 minutes for your appointment time.  Please note, applicants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian present.
