CMT Marquee invites you into the infamous and disturbing world of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This twisted tale unfolds in Victorian-era London, as Sweeney Todd returns from exile to seek vengeance on those who destroyed his life. His thirst for blood soon expands to include the whole human race, and with the help of his equally maniacal partner, local baker Mrs. Lovett, he finds his road to revenge. With a lush and operatic score, a darkly comedic plot and chilling visuals, this production will both shock and thrill.

Kevin R. Hauge, Director
In his 21st season as Artistic Director at CMT, Kevin has led the nation’s premier theater company for youth in taking on increasingly challenging and professional-quality productions. His innovative approach to productions includes incorporating modern techniques and technology, culminating in recognition of artistic excellence from the National Endowment for the Arts for nine consecutive years. A recipient of the prestigious Lin Wright Special Recognition Award by the American Alliance for Theater and Education, he’s been the guest speaker at the International Association of Theater Educators Conference in Washington D.C., and the Education and Technology conference in New York City. Kevin has collaborated on productions in a variety of venues all over the world. He’s staged ice shows, magic shows, musical revues, industrial shows, corporate parties, television specials and book musicals for a variety of companies, including Tropworld (Atlantic City), Harrah’s (Reno), Six Flags Parks (nationwide), and Royal Viking Cruise Lines (worldwide). Some of the unique productions Kevin has worked on include You’re in the Movies (MGM Grand) in Las Vegas, World of Wonders (Everland) in Seoul, South Korea, and a special Easter Celebration (The White House) in Washington D.C. Kevin has appeared several times as a guest artist with the San Jose Symphony, and has served on the Exhibits Committee at the Tech Museum of Innovation.
Kelly Connolly, Choreographer
Kelly Connolly is honored to be back choreographing Sweeney Todd this upcoming season at CMT after a truly magical experience choreographing Rent & American Idiot .Kelly choreographed and asst. directed America Rocks created with KMCC. Debut performance with Carrie Underwood introducing the Vista fleet wide with Carnival Cruise Lines Nov. 4th 2016 in NYC. Kelly recently filmed the last episode of Scream 2 on MTV. Kelly choreographed & performed as cartoon characters in the DVD Kung Fu Panda 3 Special Edition Dance Party. Kelly was part of the original cast of The Illusionist on Broadway, and was the choreographer of The Illusionists 2.0 at the Sydney Opera House. Kelly is fresh off the set of feature film 68 Kill , and currently can be seen in Theaters in new release of Mr. Right as movement coordinator & actress on the dance floor soon. Other film credits include Ride Along 2 (2016), Disney's Invisible Sister (2016), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015), NOLA Circus (2016) where she doubled for the lead actress, Mind Puppets (2016), and Devil's Brake (2016), where she acted, choreographed, and performed stunts. She also plays the role of Vita in soon to be released feature film Aztec Warrior (2016) , and doubles the lead actress in feature film Refugio (2015) . Kelly can also be seen in promos for FX hit series American Horror Story. TV credits on hit shows such as television series The Walking Dead, The Mindy Project, Star Crossed, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Nickelodeon’s Fresh Beat Band, Malcolm in the Middle, and CSI NY . Appearances in motion pictures including Rock of Ages, The Muppets, Honey 2, A Christmas Carol, Year One . She has performed and choreographed in TV ads for brands including Degree Woman, Nikon, Chrysler and T-Mobile. She can be seen acting and dancing in music videos for One Republic’s Counting Stars, and All the Right Moves . As well as Britney Spears’ (double) for music video Three, and instructional fitness model for Tapout, Hip-Hop Abs, Cybex, and Orbital 360 . Additional credits include performing alongside Selena Gomez at the Teen Choice Awards, Dancing with the Stars, TV Land Awards , and Back-up singer for Patti LaBelle at the World Music Awards. Kelly's extensive background in musical theater include performances in A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, Camelot, Beauty and the Beast, Mame, Mass, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat performed at the Kodak Theater and Hollywood Bowl. With the support of family, friends, and loved one Connolly continues to share her passion for the arts and hopes to work professionally with CMT students in the future!

Daniel Hughes, Vocal Director
Daniel Hughes is in constant demand as a conductor, accompanist, coach, and choral clinician. He serves as the Artistic Director & Conductor of the internationally award-winning mixed-voice ensemble The Choral Project — who’s vision is “to transform and heal through music and words.”Hughes’s collaborations include international performances with respected ensembles such as The King’s Singers, Canadian Brass, Costa Rica’s Café Chorale, The Australian Voices, the San José Chamber Orchestra, and creative work with award-winning Broadway composer & lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Concert appearances include performances at Lincoln Center (New York City), Caulkins Opera House (Denver), Gusman Concert Hall (Miami), and Davies Symphony Hall (San Francisco). He will be conducting a concert in February 2017 with The Choral Project and renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade. Hughes began studying piano and composition at the age of four. He has extensive training in piano and voice Awards include: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place (California International Choral Competition); 2nd place (58th annual International Eisteddfod, Wales); 4th place (35th International Choral Competition—Gorizia, Italy); 2013 Artist’s Laureate Award (Arts Council Silicon Valley); The American Prize Award for Choral Direction; and a 2010 Silicon Valley Arts & Business Award for 20+ years of excellence in the arts in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is an accomplished composer and arranger his works are published through Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Gentry Publications, National Music Publishing, MusicSpoke, and earthsongs. Mr. Hughes’s biography is featured in Who’s Who in America.
Amie Jan, Musical Director
Amie Jan graduated from Rice University with a Computer Science degree, and briefly worked as a software programmer and IT consultant before she decided that she simply needed to have more music in her life! She moved to California, and began her second undergraduate degree at San Jose State University, double majoring in Violin Performance and Music Education, subsequently earning her teaching credential in Music. In her spare time, Amie performed as a freelance violinist/violist all over the Bay Area, which led her to discover another passion: musical theater. Since moving to California in 2003, she has played in over fifty pit orchestras all over the Bay Area, and has musical directed over fifty more — most of them here at CMTSJ. Amie is currently Orchestra Director at Lincoln HS, and is also a certified Suzuki violin instructor with a small private studio of young violinists and violists. Among her exciting gigs as a freelance musician, Amie has performed in concerts with Josh Groban, Kanye West, and Smokey Robinson.
