Artistic Staff

LAURA EGLIN, DIRECTOR
Laura Eglin's directing credits include 30 musicals for the Miami Children's Theater, such as Once Upon a Mattress, Honk, Cinderella, Grease, and Wizard of Oz.  She directed and designed El Retable de Maese Pedro for Michigan State University's Musique 21 and choreographed the world premiere opera, Sleepy Hollow.  She is an acclaimed vocal teacher as well as a successful opera and musical theater performer herself, best known for her portrayal of Rose in the southern premiere of Caroline, or Change.  She has a Bachelor's and a Master's of Music, both from Michigan State University.  

 

 

 

CLAIRE ALEXANDER, CHOREOGRAPHER
Claire Alexander grew up dancing at her mother’s studio in southern California. After receiving her BA in Dance from San Jose State University she began teaching and choreographing for many Bay Area studios and schools. Claire's first time on stage with CMT was in Hairspray where she quickly fell in love with musical theatre and came back for more the following season in 9 to 5. Claire also choreographed Aladdin Jr.  for CMTs Rising Stars last season. When she is not choreographing or performing she is a full time real estate agent with Keller Williams and loves to help people achieve their home buying and selling goals. She is an active leader in the San Jose arts community and is a graduate of the San Jose Leadership Council's Community Leadership Program.

 

 

NEDA LAHIDJI, VOCAL DIRECTOR
Rising American-Iranian classical soprano Neda Lahidji, known for her incredibly rich and flexible voice, sings in an array of genres including opera, musical theater, jazz, sacred and popular.  Neda performed in several CMT productions during her time in high school, with Les Miserables being her favorite.  Neda continued performing during her time at Chapman University where she recently received her Bachelors Degree of Music in Vocal Performance from the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music and a minor in Sociology. She has a love for teaching as well and runs her own private piano and voice studio. Neda is now an alumna of OperaWorks Emerging Artist Program. She currently lives in Santa Clara, CA and enjoys teaching, cooking, working out, reading, and dancing. She will be applying for her Masters for Opera and Musical Theater this fall.
