Marquee Productions
2010-2011 marks the seventh anniversary of Marquee Productions, and this year, we're celebrating with an expanded schedule: two great Marquee shows. The annual Marquee production has become a CMT tradition and highlights CMT's full artistic potential with high-caliber entertainment that benefits the organization and the community. Past Marquee productions of Singin' In The Rain (2010), Disney's When You Wish (2009), Ragtime (2008), Thoroughly Modern Millie (2007), The Full Monty (2006), Chess (2005), have set standards high for the annual production which features a cast of CMT Alumni as well as many local professional adult actors from the Bay Area.
HAIRSPRAY
December 3 - 12, 2010
Directed & Choreographed by:
KEVIN R. HAUGE
Hairspray delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air. Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?
CHICAGO

Directed & Choreographed by:
KEVIN R. HAUGE
Premiering in 1975 and the hit of the 1997 Broadway season Chicago won six Tony Awards including Best Revival and later the Academy Award as Best Picture of the Year. In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal.
