CMT Scholarships

Children's Musical Theater San Jose grants need-based scholarships to those families who are unable to afford the tuition for its programs. The intent of the Scholarship Program is to give performance opportunities to youth who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Scholarships may be limited, but CMT will award as many as it is able.

Two types of scholarships are available:

  • Work Scholarship
  • Non-Work Scholarship

If you are considering to participate in any of our upcoming productions, we strongly encourage you to complete your scholarship application in advance. If you are planning to do a work scholarship, please note that you may begin working off your hours at any time. Don’t wait - there are many areas to choose from. So apply today!

How To Apply

Complete the Scholarship Application and submit it, in person, to the Scholarship Program Manager, by 5:00pm on the posted deadline date. Faxed applications will not be accepted.

When submitting your application, plan at least 45 minutes for an interview with the Scholarship Program Manager. Applicants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian present.

If you are offered the scholarship, you will sign the contract and agree to its conditions, then you will be given a copy of the contract to keep for your records.

Drop-ins are welcome but you may plan ahead by calling Juliana Deleruyelle, Education Associate, at 408-288-5437 x 312 or email juliana@cmtsj.org.

Late applications will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made – regardless of circumstance. Thank you for your cooperation.
