About the Montgomery
Located at the corner of Market and San Carlos streets in downtown San Jose, the Montgomery Theater was built in 1936 and retains its historic charm to this day. Built with only 523 seats, the theater offers our audience an intimate experience for every performance.
The theater is within easy walking distance of the Convention Center light rail stop and several pay parking lots. Many fine restaurants, hotels and other attractions are also an easy walk from the theater.
The Montgomery is equipped with limited wheelchair seating and assisted listening devices for patrons who have hearing impairments. Please inquire in advance at the Box Office.
Because the Montgomery is also home to Lyric Theatre and host to many outstanding smaller arts organizations, please check to make sure CMT is in residence before trying to reach us at the Montgomery Box Office. On CMT show days, the Box Office at the Montgomery Theater opens one hour prior to the performance.
